So... What do wedding photographers do when they are wedding guests??

They squirm in their seats all day long and sneak pictures!
October 13th, Written By: Heather
Yesterday, Skip and I went up to Anaheim for the wedding of Joe & Elizabeth. Joe & Elizabeth have been friends of our daughter's for years and we were so stoked to be asked as guests for their wedding. We were so happy we were open that day and could experience a wedding from... the other side ;-)
This was one very cool wedding. I love anything with a theme and this one played it's theme out beautifully. October 13th Wedding/ Nightmare Before Christmas. The first thing to have us running for our cameras were the flowers, they were amazing! The bright orange colors popped against the deep greens of the garden and the overcast day.

We were lucky enough to grab the last row aisle seats so I was almost in my usual shooting position when the bride came down the aisle. Stay in your seat... stay in your seat... man that was hard! I had to hold Skip down a few times as I saw him scoping out the ceremony and felt him leaning forward to move ;-) We didn't think it was going to be so hard, but even back in the last row, disguised as guests, the wedding adrenaline rush hit us both and it was really very hard to behave and stay seated.
But we did... almost fell out of my seat for this one though!

Our girl Jen! Being the child of photographer parents isn't easy.

And last... the cake.... OMG, in all of the weddings we have done, we have NEVER seen a cake like this... and there we were without all of our camera gear! Arrrgh! So we did what we could and gave it a shot. The cake was created by Let Them Eat Cake in Hollywood, who has done tons of celeb cakes, this one "Takes The Cake".

We had a terrific time, even got on the dance floor... without a camera!
We are really glad that we have another wedding in two weeks and can run around again all we want, being a guest was fun, but being the photographer is MUCH better!
