Ferrari 333SP from the late '90s. This one won the Daytona 24 hour race in 1998 and the Sebring 12 hour race in 1999. Fast and sturdy!
It was a great day for someone like me, a real car nut! I took over 150 photos in less than 3 hours, there were so many significant cars to see, I can't begin to get all of them up on this blog. Being around that many rare and exotic cars was a great experience and I look forward to doing it again, soon!
Not every picture we take around here is always of Brides, Grooms or Dalmatians. Every once in a while we have a chance to work with the things that involve our personal interest... for Skip, that would be cars.
On the last weekend in March, Skip was invited to Symbolic Motor cars in La Jolla to photograph an event they had going on...... for him it was a true paradise.
Skip is in the process of setting up some work for us with Symbolic and other specialty car dealers to do special portraits of their client's cars.

This is a Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe, currently one of a kind, on display for this day from Rolls Royce U.S. at Symbolic. An absolutely priceless car! The inset shows the teak wood tonneau cover over the top when it is down. Really "over the top!" I guess when the help finishes waxing the car, then they can start on oiling the teak!

The car in the foreground is a Dallara painted to look like a Ferrari Formula 1 car. You'll notice that it has two seats. It was a demonstrator for Ferrari to send sponsors out in, behind one of their race or test drivers, to show what it's like to be in a Ferrari F1 racer. Must have been exciting, scrunched up behind sombody you barely know, going close to 200 mph!

The Bugatti Veyron. Symbolic just got this one in that day, I love this red and black color combination. The engine puts out over 1000 (yes, that's one thousand) horsepower, pushing the car to more than 250 mph, and, if you filled its gas tank up in Escondido and drove full speed down I-15, you'd run out of gas somewhere just short of Mexico! Of course, you'd be there in something like 12 minutes! Oh, yeah, at $1.2 million for the car, you won't mind spending the $300 for a tank of the special fuel it needs to put out that 1000 hp! Yeah, right!
