Mixing work & play....

Every now and then, we get a chance to get out and have some fun, and get reacquainted with our friends. Last night the Escondido Arts Partnership had it’s annual fundraiser, Panache. We attended as guests and sponsors but couldn’t seem to leave the camera at home.
The EAP is a very special place to us, it was the organization and the people who helped us get our start in the art world. We were involved since the doors opened in 1995, and have been involved ever since. We have painted walls, moved countless pieces of art, scrubbed floors, organized and started the Art Connection Program, Co Chaired on the Exhibition Committee, you name it, and chances are we have done it. And in return we became close friends and learned so much from the most supportive people ever.

Panache 2006 was a great event this year, all the Who’s Who of Escondido were there.
Mayor Lori, a good friend and supporter of both Skips and my art was there; it was great seeing her again. Lately the only time we see her is in the paper or on TV.

People were bidding like mad at the silent and live auctions, and we enjoyed some amazing food from 150 Grand.

No new art purchase came home with us though.. just as well as we just purchased some great new lighting equipment earlier in the afternoon.

We had a great time reconnecting with everyone, after a week of being glued to the computer it was really nice to get out!
