Patricia & Chris's Engagement Session...... something completely different! Wow!

Monday October 29th, Written By: Heather
Yesterday we had an amazing shoot set up with one of our 08 couples, Patricia and Chris. But before I say any more about this session, I first need to do a big shout out and THANK YOU... First to my terrific husband and business partner for finding this venue, if it wasn't for his car addiction and an article in Road and Track magazine, we would have never known about this place, and then to the Keating Hotel, whose staff is beyond amazing! From the moment we walked through the doors, we were all treated like royalty and given access to a private room, the lounge, and free access to anywhere we wanted to go and shoot in the hotel! And also a huge thanks to our fabulous couple Patricia and Chris who trusted us to find a great location for their e-session in hopes of having engagement pictures that were...well... not so ordinary.

The Keating is downtown on 5th and F. The original hotel was built in 1890. Recently this hotel was bought and redesigned by the Pininfarina Group. Pininfarina is one of the most famous sports car designers in the world, having done the bodies of every production Ferrari since the early '50s and also working for Maserati and several other major European auto manufacturers. The interior design is very Euro-chic, done all in Ferrari red and black with brushed chrome accents.

Now back to our regularly scheduled blogging.......

Patricia and Chris are having a "Downtown" themed wedding, with their reception at the El Cortez Hotel. So, to keep with the theme they decided to pass on the usual beach e-session and go with something a bit edgier and more urban... we couldnt have been more excited!

We started off with some shots outside the hotel...

And then moved into the oh so.... RED lobby!

The "Lounge" was a real photo inspiration. The high-tech bar made of aluminum and steel and was a perfect backdrop. The Lounge is located under the lobby and is said to play host to an eclectic mix of who's who of Southern California.... includig our two superstars!

And then there was "The Vault" I think this was my favorite part! This was once an actual vault for a previous tenant of the building. The outside has the original old red bricks from the building, and also showcases limited editions of Pinifarina wines.

The fabulous Keating also allowed us access to one of their rooms complete with an awesome view of the city AND this HUGE jacuzzi tub. These rooms are unbelievable. The Bang & Olufsen sound systems rocked the room!

Working with Patricia and Chris was phenomenal, these two are just the best together, with an engagement session this good, we can't wait to see what the wedding day will bring!

Thanks Keating! Your staff is THE BEST! Especially Steven, Sandra and Lilliana!
